I have been using Neem Oil to battle fleas on my cat. I take a cap full or two of Neem and pour it into a spray bottle. Add hot water, which helps it disperse, and shake it up. Spray the cat down in little sections, take a flea comb and comb thru the fur. Now watch how all the fleas are turned to bloody little red spots. You may have to apply many treatments daily(I would do it every morning) til all inhabitants are dead and gone!
Honestly it is a task that I really couldn't handle so I ended up going with the store bought flea shampoo, and flea killer for my carpets. But if you catch them before they get too far along I believe this will be a bit easier. Or just use it every once in a while for maintenance.
